Three things to have ready before the plane doors open

Arriving at Ngurah Rai is straightforward if the paperwork is already done on your phone. All three of the items below can be completed before you fly, and all three are far slower to do standing in the terminal. Screenshot every QR code — airport wifi is not reliable and the queue is not the place to discover it.

The arrival card
Indonesia's arrival and customs declaration is now a single online form, submitted through the All Indonesia system. Fill it in before departure or within 72 hours of landing, and save the QR code it gives you to your photo roll. You will be asked for it at customs.

Your visa
Most visitors buy a Visa on Arrival: 500,000 rupiah for 30 days, extendable once for a further 30. You can pay it online in advance as an e-VOA and walk to the faster queue, or at the counter on arrival. Citizens of the nine ASEAN countries do not need it. Your passport must have at least six months left on it.

The Bali tourist levy
A separate 150,000 rupiah per person, once per visit, paid to the province rather than to immigration. Pay it at lovebali.baliprov.go.id before you travel and keep the QR code — it can be checked at the airport and at some attractions. It is cashless only; there is a counter at the airport if you have not paid.
These figures move
Fees, forms and the systems behind them change with little notice, and were last checked in August 2026. Message us a week before you fly and we will confirm what is current — it takes us two minutes and saves you a queue.
Getting out of the terminal
Once you are through customs you will meet a wall of people offering transport. If we are collecting you, your driver will be past that wall holding your name, and will walk you to the car park — we will send you a photo and a plate number the day before, so you know who you are looking for. If you have not arranged anything, use the official taxi counter inside the terminal rather than accepting an offer on the concourse. Never hand your passport to anyone who is not in a uniform behind a desk.
