Made

Bali Tour & Transport

Twenty numbered experiences across culture, nature, wildlife, adventure and the islands — with drive times from Kuta, honest advice on what suits children, and a private driver for every one of them.

Private, air-conditioned transport included on every tour · Child seats available free of charge

A family business in Bali

We drive you, and we tell you the truth about what suits your children.

Anik and Made run tours and private transport across Bali. Every tour on this site includes air-conditioned private transport door to door, with fuel, parking and your driver’s time. Child and booster seats are free — tell us ages and weights when you book and we fit them before we collect you.

Twenty numbered experiences, each with a drive time from Kuta, a plain note on what it is like with children, and the minimum ages that actually apply. Where something is not right for a five-year-old we say so, rather than selling it to you anyway.

Bali Zoo

Singapadu · 70–90 min from Kuta

The Tegallalang rice terraces: emerald paddies stacked in curving steps down a steep valley, narrow earth paths between them and coconut palms along the ridge.5

Nature & Landscape

Tegallalang Rice Terrace

Tegallalang · 100–130 min from Kuta

Kids with care

Emerald terraces stacked down a steep valley, irrigated by subak — the cooperative water system Bali has used since the ninth century and now UNESCO-listed. Walk the ridge paths between the paddies, or simply take the view from a terrace café with a coconut in hand.

Islands, Leisure & Transport

Nusa Penida Island Tour

Nusa Penida · 40 min + 45 min from Kuta

Older kids & up

The most dramatic scenery in the Bali region, 45 minutes across the strait. The west route takes in Kelingking Beach — the cliff shaped like a tyrannosaur's head — Angel's Billabong, Broken Beach and Crystal Bay. The east route covers Diamond Beach, Atuh and Thousand Islands viewpoint. Snorkelling with manta rays can be added.

Getting around

Bali has no rail network. A private driver is simply how the island works.

Distances that look small on a map are not small in practice — 45 kilometres to Ubud is a two-hour drive in the middle of the day. There is no train, and a string of separate taxis for a day of stops costs more and tires everyone out.

A car, a driver who waits while you are inside, and a fixed price for the day including fuel and parking. For two or more people it is usually the cheapest way to do it, and always the easiest.

D&D Rental Motorbike

Or ride it yourself — we rent scooters too

Our scooters go out under the name D&D Rental — same people, same phone number, just the rental side of what we do. One bike, the Yamaha NMAX, delivered to your hotel with helmets, and we will hire it out for as little as 1 hour.

Per day
IDR 150,000
Per month
IDR 3,000,000

You need a motorcycle licence from your own country and an International Driving Permit carrying the motorcycle category. Without both, most travel insurance will not pay a medical claim. We will ask — and if you do not have them we will drive you instead.

Scooter hire, prices and the rules

A plain matte helmet resting on the seat of a clean automatic scooter parked beside a rice field.
A Balinese welcome at a hotel entrance in warm morning light: a carved stone gateway hung with woven palm leaf, a stone guardian statue in checked poleng cloth, and frangipani flowers scattered on dark paving.

Welcome to Bali

The guide we hand our guests when they land

Ten chapters on arriving, paying, getting about, staying well, and the handful of things visitors most often get wrong — the arrival card and the tourist levy, the money-changer count, whether you need an International Driving Permit, rip currents, and what to do if a monkey scratches you. Free to read, no email required.

Reviewed August 2026. Fees, forms and fines change — message us the week before you fly and we will confirm what is current.

What people say

  • “Ten years I have been coming to Bali, and Made has driven me on every single trip. I stopped shopping around a long time ago — I send him the dates, he tells me what is worth doing that week, and it is sorted. The two-in-the-morning run up Batur is still the one I make everybody do.”

  • “Every transfer we took over ten days was with Made — the airport at both ends, up to Ubud, then back down to Seminyak. Always early, always the same clean car, and a message the night before each one so I never had to chase anybody.”

Karishma Mohini · Sydney, AustraliaTransfers around the island

  • “We do Gili T most years and Made handles both ends of it — down to the ferry port in the dark, then waiting for us when we come back three days later looking wrecked. He keeps an eye on the boat, so if it runs late he is simply there. I have never once had to think about it.”

  • “Made collects me from the airport, and then I book him for whole days once I am there. Some days it is temples and a waterfall, other days I only want lunch somewhere good and a drive home afterwards. He has never once made me feel like a day was too small to bother with.”

Get in touch

Everything here starts with a message

There is no booking system on this site and no form that emails anyone. Tell us roughly when you are here, who is coming and how old the children are, and we will come back with what fits, what to skip, and what it costs.

Not sure yet? Message us anyway. We would rather answer three questions than have you book something that will not suit your six-year-old.

Tell us about your trip

This builds a WhatsApp message and opens it in your app. Nothing is sent from this page, and you can read and edit it before it goes.

Your party

Every tour has a minimum age or a supervision note, so ages let us give you a straight answer.
