Tegenungan 30 km / Tibumana 40 km · 75–110 min drive · 1–1.5 hrs
Choose between a wide, powerful curtain of water in an open gorge, a slender jungle fall with a calm swimming pool, or a fan of water sliding over stepped black rock. All sit in cool river valleys reached by a short flight of steps through the trees.
With children
From about 5. Steps and rocks stay slippery year-round and currents below the falls are strong — children should swim only in the calm side pools, with an adult in the water. Tibumana is the gentlest of the three for families.
